HOW TO COMPRESS VIDEO IN FINAL CUT PRO HD
Make sure your sequence is highlighted and that your In and Out points correspond with what you would like to export. If no In and Out points are selected the entire sequence will be compressed and exported.
File > Export > Using Compressor
Compressor will launch, a Batch Monitor will show up
Hit the ‘+’ Button to generate a new preset.
Choose Quicktime
At the bottom choose ‘Untitled Quicktime 1’
Select ‘Encoder’.
Video Settings
From the Video pull-down menu, select MPEG4 video.
Set Frames per Second to 15
Set key frames to Every 5 frames.
Set the data rate to 60 KBytes/sec.
Set the compressor to Medium.
Click OK.
Audio Settings.
Select MPEG 4 audio.
Set Rate to 24.000 Khz
Set Size to 16 Bit
Select Mono.
Under Options, set compressor to AAC.
Set Target Output at Specified Bit Rate.
Change the bit rate to 32 kbits/second.
Keep the output sample rate at 24.000 kHz.
Keep the encoder quality at Better.
Click OK.
For streaming select Progressive Download.
At the top of the window click on Geometry.
Set the Frame Size to 320 x 240.
Rename ‘Untitled Quicktime 1’ to ‘Little While QT’.
Close the presets and click OK to save.
Now go back to the Batch Monitor.
Under preset, select ‘Little While QT’.
Select a desired destination for the compressed file.
Click Submit.
DONE. Now that you’ve created the preset, you can simply select it on future exports for future Little While submissions.
